Bill Coleman is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Cassatt Corporation, an infrastructure software company focusing on the automation of IT Operations. Previously, he was the original founder, chairman and CEO of BEA Systems. Under his leadership, BEA became the fastest software firm to exceed $1 billion in annual revenue. Coleman has more than 30 years of high-technology experience. As vice president of system software at Sun Microsystems, Coleman's team transformed SunOS into the commercially successful Solaris operating system. While at Sun he also founded Sun's Professional Services Division and co-founded Sun's Federal Division., Inc. Previously, Coleman Co-Founded Dest Systems where he headed up engineering, served as Director of Product Development at VisiCorp and as Manager of the High Frequency Systems group at GTE Sylvania. Coleman began his career in the U.S. Air Force as Chief of Satellite Operations in the Office of the Secretary. Coleman is President of the Colorado University Coleman Foundation for Cognitive Disabilities, he also sits on the board of directors of Symantec, he is currently the Chairman of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group, and he is also a member of the Trilateral Commission. In 2001, he was named "Entrepreneur of the Year" by both Ernst & Young and the Robert H. and Beverly A. Deming Center for Entrepreneurship, as well as one of 2001's "E-biz 25 Top Executives by Business Week." Coleman holds a M.S. in Computer Science and Computer Engineering from Stanford University and a B.S. in Computer Science from the U.S. Air Force Academy. |
