Of all the days of the year, the greenest t’is St. Patrick’s. Even the beer runs green, don’t ya know. So what better day to take a tour of green buildings in Santa Clara County?

On Monday, March 17th, (St. Patrick’s Day), the Silicon Valley Leadership Group in partnership with NetApp and Cushman & Wakefield will host a tour of green buildings in Santa Clara County. We’ll be taking policy makers & implementers, developers, architects, planners and business leaders out to see, firsthand, different buildings that have been built or retrofitted to be green.

The Tour will cover different shades of green from light to dark while also showcasing various building types: commercial, residential and municipal. Important elements of green building such as water conservation, indoor air quality and energy efficiency will be highlighted in addition to the challenges, from the public and private sector perspective, of building green. Builders, architects and developers will be on-hand to share the story of each site and answer questions about how to successfully build green. And, transportation will be provided via one of VTA’s Zero Emission Buses.

Tour sites:

  • Adobe (large scale commercial retrofit)
  • River Park (highrise residential)
  • IdEas (small scale commercial retrofit)
  • Parkwood (new multi-family and single family construction)
  • West Valley Library (municipal construction)
  • *sites may change

We hope you can join us for this exciting opportunity to learn more about what is currently being done in the green building marketplace.
