The Silicon Valley Leadership Group is organizing two water workshops, addressing strategies for local water conservation as well as state water management and policy options.

Drought conditions, Delta pumping curtailments in 2008, controversy over water bonds and climate change pose challenges to clean, reliable sources of water in our workplaces and in our homes. In order to prepare for an uncertain water future, we all need to roll up our sleeves and make our voices heard!

Speakers:

  • Chris Brown
Executive Director, California Urban Water Conservation Council

  • Hossein Ashktorab
Ph.D., Water Use Efficiency Manager, Santa Clara Valley Water District

  • Tom Cooper
    Corporate Water Programs, Intel

  • Bob Day
Director of Customer Service, San Jose Water Company

Topics to be covered:

  • The role of water use improvement in state-wide water management
  • Local programs and rebates available for commercial, industrial, and residential water efficiency
  • How water conservation can also save energy, and reduce climate change impacts, in your business
  • Examples of successfully implemented water efficiency efforts
  • Residential water conservation methods to share with employees
